Breast Augmentation Overview

I'm Justin Martin. I'm the owner of Martin Plastic Surgery in Dothan. Today we'll be talking about breast augmentation. 

Breast augmentation is thought of as a routine procedure that we do as plastic surgeons, that there are really a lot of variables that you have to think about. There is a lot of creativity that goes into it in order to get the best result possible.

It typically involves an incision in the fold, a small incision, several centimeters long, in the fold, under the breast, and the implant is put in through that small incision. 

I want the result to be proportional, to look natural because every patient is not the same. Everybody's different. You have to think about all these variables before you do the surgery so that you get the best result for that particular patient.

Breast augmentation is an outpatient surgery so you come in and have it done, and go home the same day, so pretty short procedure. They'll take anywhere from 45 minutes to a little over an hour. 

Patients come into our office initially not pleased with part of their body, and they feel like they can't do anything about it. We're fortunate enough to be able to help them with that. It just gives them a lot of confidence and a lot of happiness that they didn't have otherwise.
