Removal of small facial blood vessels
Small visible facial blood vessels can be removed with a Long Pulsed YAG laser. This laser is also effective at treating spider and cherry angiomas, which are small red lesions, usually seen on the chest and face.
In most cases, only one treatment is required for complete clearance of the spider vein or angioma, but in some cases, more than one treatment might be needed. The treatment is painless, with only minimal discomfort, if any. Although this laser in most cases will cause the spider vein or lesion to disappear, it is important to note that this treatment is not effective for vessels larger than 3mm wide.
There is no downtime after the procedure, and in some cases there might be some light scabbing at the location on the leg where the vessel was treated. This is a normal part of the healing process and will resolve with time. It is also common to see the vessel or lesion completely disappear immediately after the treatment. In other cases, it might take several weeks for the vessel to totally disappear.
